Description
Once upon a time...
The history of the Taschenbergpalais goes back to the year 1709, when Augustus the Strong had it built for Countess Cosel by the baroque architect Pöppelmann. It was not long before the Palais became a centre of social life, accommodating crown princes and royal guests. The building was destroyed during World War II, after which only its morbid beauty gave any hint of its former splendour.
A stay in the Taschenbergpalais means both living in a highly luxurious surrounding and being able to make use of modern technologies. Each of the 183 elegantly furnished rooms and 30 suites includes three telephones, facsimile and modem lines. The timelessly elegant design and the view at the Semper Opera House or at the Zwinger is an experience you will surely remember.
