It was near the Hampton Inn® hotel in Hanover that the South first brought the Civil War to a Northern state. The Battle of Hanover took place in our downtown¿you can still see some of its effects today. And it was here, in the following November, that Abraham Lincoln stopped on his way to deliver the Gettysburg Address (Gettysburg is just 14 miles from our hotel in Hanover).
The Civil War may have first made our town famous, but it's our fabulous potato chips and pretzels that really put Hanover on the map.
